The machine emulsion is exposed to various sources of pollution like slideway lubricant, oil from leaking seals, rust particles, dust, grease, etc. Oil and grease forms a film on top of the emulsion and prevents oxygen supply. A polluted and poorly oxygenated emulsion degrade prematurely. An oil skimmer removes these contaminants, whereby the life span of lubricating coolants are extended by up to 40%.
